The questions here are numerous and great. Some parts such as embryology and histo-pathology are a little less relevant, as is the newborn care stuff. Obviously, be pertinent in your studying and focus on the rest of the Gyn Onc, General Gynaecology and Obstetrical care stuff, which is the crux of the shelf.

Needs better reviewing

I am a 3rd yr med student, the folks this book is supposed to be written for. I bought it after i studied incredibly hard for the ob/gyn shelf and failed it. I thought this would be a good set of questions to go through after draining my question bank and all other resources available to me, but it hasn't quite lived up to expectations. They often mix up pathology from two different disease processes, have incorrect answers, and the answer choices in the questions will often have multiple correct answers that honestly can not be separated out by the information given, and often sadly fail to explain themselves in the explanation section. I also had several questions where what i had marked was right as far as the explanation went, however, the correct answer was something else. There's also several statistical questions that 1. you don't get taught about on the wards, and 2. are not on the shelf.....Basically it hasn't been the greatest book to instill any sense of confidence when attempting to retake a shelf exam that has a reputation as being not very friendly. I think you're better off spending some quality time with Case Files.

Fall in love all over again!!

First, I was NOT provided an ARC in return for my honest review. I, along with others, were given an opportunity to purchase this book prior to release day. I devoured it in one afternoon and then when I finished it, I needed a glass or bottle of wine. I actually told Cory that too…lol… My response to her after reading it was, “The emotions I went through, holy crap! The story, the love and the heart break and of course, the ending I was not expecting – best.point.of.view.ever!!!”

This will probably be one of the hardest reviews that I have to write. Not because I disliked it but because I don’t think I’ll be able to find the right words to do this book any justice. If you have NOT read Bite & Release, you must do so first or you’ll be completely lost. This is a POV book but not like any POV book you’ll ever read. I don’t normally read POV books because they just seem to repeat everything I’ve already read but this one is completely refreshing. I won’t lie and say that there is nothing from the first book included but the way it’s included is on a different level you’ll feel like you’re learning about Shea & Ryan all over again.

Shea and Ryan have overcome so many things in life but their story isn’t over. This is Shea’s POV but with a twist. You will laugh, be turned on, cry – have the tissues on hand – and be prepared to fall in love all over again with Shea & Ryan. This story just goes to show you how deep love can be.

What A Mighty Good Man!

The Reason I Breathe by Cory Cyr might be better thought of as an extended epilogue mixed with an intense, unique character POV.

After reading Bite & Release I knew waiting for The Reason I Breathe to be available would be torture! The reward for my patience was worth it. Cory Cyr has this way about her writing that just reaches into the very depths of your "feely zone" and takes root for the entire story.

After waiting for so many years to finally be with Ryan, Shea struggles with what his life could possibly be without her. Can he be strong enough without her to even continue on living? He believes in his heart of hearts that he is truly nothing without her. That he has no value or purpose to be around without her.
Shea really battles with some serious mental demons in this story and as he recalls where and who he was during his childhood up to the point that Ryan comes back to Alaska, he starts seriously loosing grip.

This story has it's HEA and leaves no cliffhanger. You MUST read Bite & Release before reading this book or it will be a waste.

If I could give this book more stars I would. Right now as I write this review I am still running high on a roller-coaster of emotions. I mentioned once I was terrified to read this book. I was afraid of the ugly cry I might go through. Not for one minute do I regret reading this book.

I loved the story of Ryan Chance and Andrew Seamus Michael from Bite and Release. Book 1 is perfect. Absolutely perfect. Their love story, the drama, perfect.

Book 2...OH! MY! GOD! If there ever was a more perfect book boyfriend Shea is him. A broken man describing his love for his woman. How much more perfect can that get?

There are no ways to describe the ugly cry I went through. I got excited and was crushed, all while falling for everything Shea is going through. What Ryan Is going through.

Do I recommend the book? YES I DO. ARE YOU NUTS? Read book 1 first it is a must. I think Cory did an excellent job telling a story from Shea's POV and I would not ever ask for a different story than the one I read.

Pictures of finished projects often unclear

This is a nice looking book and the instructions for the projects may very well be good but it's unlikely I'll ever need them. The pictures of the finished projects are nice looking (as pictures) but it's often difficult to see details due to busy backgrounds, similar coloured backgrounds, and camera angles. Some of the pictures are clearer but unfortunately for me they're the projects I don't like very much. The ones I like I won't be able to make because I'm not really sure exactly what they look like.

I highly recommend reading this if you want to see how to ...

I read this and its making me excited about writing a ray tracer. Peter Shirley is of course well known in the Computer Graphics community for his expertise in Ray Tracing. I highly recommend reading this if you want to see how to get a Ray Tracer working. The hardest part of Computer Graphics is getting to a place where you are generating actual graphics and not debugging a black screen. I think this book will be helpful to those struggling with that issue. I liked the length, though I may have wanted to see a little bit more on lighting and shadows. Since that is relatively straight-forward (shoot a ray toward a light and if anything hits before the light, then you have a shadow), I won't diminish my rating that this is a top rate short read for the money. Think about it, would you pay $3 to have someone explain to you how to make a simple ray tracer? I know I would.

It's a good book, but I've found two flaws while working ...

It's a good book, but I've found two flaws while working with it

1. The source doesn't seem to be available and the text of the code is embedding in images, so you can't copy and paste. While it's been informative to retype the code, sometimes I would like to avoid it.

2. In Chapter 8 on Materials, the Hitable class gets a new member, mtr_ptr, which seems to get glossed over where this is added to the code, etc. It would be nice to get an update on design, and again, a code repo with git commits for each chapter would go a long way.

Wole Soyinka is a celebrated Nigerian writer and winner of the 1986 Nobel Prize for Literature. Splendid

This, Volume 1 of the collected plays by Nigerian-born Wole Soyinka, who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1986, contains, The Dance of the Forests, The Swamp Dwellers, The Strong Breed, The Road, and The Bacchae of Euripides (Soyinka's translation), but not The Lion and the Jewel, et al., as the Book Description by Amazon above mistakenly has it. Those plays are contained in Volume 2.

For this review I want to focus on The Road which Soyinka wrote in 1965. It is a quasi-realistic play which incorporates elements from the theater of the absurd. It is a comedy of sorts, not exactly a comedie noire, as the French say, but with similar satirical intent. It is also a deeply symbolic play.

The action comprises a single day, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. The scene is a road-side shack presumably in Nigeria with a church close by, parts of which are also on stage. Part of the shack is a used parts store, and there is a dilapidated "mammy waggon" downstage and to the side opposite the church.

The central character is the PROFESSOR who stands for civilization and literacy. He has the power of the Word, and this power sustains him above his fellows. The PROFESSOR uses his literacy to forge documents such as driver's licenses. This too is part of his power. He is a contradictory character, and the Word is slippery and is not always an embodiment of the truth. The PROFESSOR stands in opposition to the Church and its Bishop.

SAMSON is the tout for the "No Danger, No Delay" lorry service. A tout is one who finds customers for the company, who seats them and maybe carries their luggage and flatters them. SAMSON is a practical man.

KOTONU is a driver who works with SAMSON. SALUBI is a driver trainee, a superstitious man. MURANO, whom Soyinka says represents the suspension of death, is a mute and personal servant to the PROFESSOR.

PARTICULARS JOE is a cop who always wants the "particulars" of the case. He apparently lives as much on the bribes he receives as he does on his salary. SAY TOKYO KID is the leader of the thugs and a driver.

The hangers-on and such serve as a musical and dancing chorus throughout the play. They sing dirges and act out tribal dances sometimes using the Mask which may hide the god of death, or as Soyinka has it, the Mask represents "a religious cult of flesh dissolution." Throughout there are references to Orgun, the tribal god of iron and war. During the Festival of the Drivers, there is the "Feast of Orgun, the Dog-eater" with the idea that the Road eats dogs that get in the way of the wheels of the lorries.

The characters in the play make their living from the road and its traffic. Some of them even chase after accidents and remove things of value from the vehicles--even the clothes of the dead--and sell them in the "Care of Accident Supply Store."

The central element is the road of course, the road like a river that runs through their lives and through their civilization, a road that lies flat and then, like a coiled snake, snaps up and brings to death by accident those who travel on its back. The road is also that which transforms the forest, as they take its timber, into the hard concrete and asphalt of the city. It is the road that transforms the life of the tribesman into that of the city dweller. One might compare the Road to the Way of the Taoists, but of course here the road is actively malicious. In a sense then this play is a religious allegory with the tension contained between the Road and the Word.

Soyinka's dialogue is in English with some Pidgin departures and with some vocabulary from the Yoruba language mixed in. Soyinka has a master's ear and an artist's touch with language. He has the characters at times talking past one another, each with his own concern, as in an absurdist play, and at other times he has them mouthing words of philosophic import. It is especially the PROFESSOR who waxes philosophical. He is a bit of a cynic who exclaims at one point, "Have you sold your soul for money? You lie like a prophet." He adds, "Truth? Truth? Truth my friend is scum risen on the froth of wine" reminding me of Pontius Pilate whom Sir Francis Bacon famously has asking, "What is truth?" and not staying for an answer.

PARTICULARS JOE, who was once a soldier, can also be philosophical, sometimes in an ironic way as when he declares "It is peaceful to fight a war which one does not understand, to kill human beings who never seduced your wife or poisoned your water." And there are jokes and witty sayings which Soyinka springs upon us by surprise from time to time. A nice exchange begins when PARTICULARS JOE pockets a coin that belongs to SAMSON that he finds in a crack on the floor:

SAMSON: That happens to be mine.

JOE [blandly]: That's O.K. Natural mistake on my part. Money has been left for me in more unlikely places believe me.

SAMSON: Well at least wait until I am back on the road before you collect tolls.

This inspires the PROFESSOR to ask JOE, How is the criminal world my friend?

JOE: More lucrative every day Professor.

PROFESSOR: Not for the criminal I trust.

JOE (with unintentional irony I presume): Oh no sir. That would only corrupt them.

One sees the influence of such absurdist playwrights as Samuel Beckett, Bertold Brecht and Eugene Ionesco in this play, but I believe Soyinka is both more realistic and funnier. He spent some part of his formative years in London where he was educated and worked in the theatre and where his first plays were produced. His mastery of the elements of the theater is obvious even from reading just this one play. I am looking forward to exploring more of Soyinka's work.

A Dance of the Forests

Although I was introduced to this book because of an english assignment, I became entranced by the book by the first 10 pages. And although it is confusing at times, and a teacher explaining the story as you go along is a signifigant help, the lyrical blend of Western experimentalism and African folk tradition is quite inebriating. If you are at all interested in African folk lore, this play is a must read for you. Wole Soyinka is one of the most respected play writers in all of Africa, and this is one of his best works.

Not being the most technically endowed, this book answered all the questions I had about the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 Tablet and more! And when I had one more question the author answered my e mail quickly and made the experience even better. I would recommend everyone who purchases this tablet to also purchase this book!

As new to tablets this book runs circles around the instruction book, explains procedures in detail how to use the Galaxy 10.1 giving tips & a little humor. Book has many pictures some colored & many illustrations. I would recommend this book. Suggested retail $24.99 US on back cover.
